CCC got cancelled, but the community is still thriving. Chaostreff Potsdam
has accepted my talk on Raider,
which will take place between 27th and 30th of December.
Daniel Neagaru04 December 2022OWASP Raider v0.3.0 - First Beta Release2022-12-04T00:00:00-06:002022-12-04T00:00:00-06:00http://0.0.0.0:4000/news/raider-0.3.0
04 December 2022

Besides outdated documentation, Raider is now ready to be considered a beta quality software. Many things have changed, and many are still being planned in the near future after the documentation gets updated. Raider started as a framework focused on testing and automating authentication processes, however it has evolved and now it can be used for all kinds of stateful HTTP processes.

Some major things that have changed since last release are:

Raider now has a CLI interface (not fully complete)

Graph-like architecture, and there’s no need to distinguish between
authentication Flows and regular Flows

Logging added everywhere

New Plugins and Operations

No more special variables

Simplified Request definitions

Fixed many bugs and implemented many smaller features

The documentation is still being worked on, so if you run into issues, you will have to figure it out from the source code, or wait a little until we update the documentation.
Daniel Neagaru04 December 2022Raider development continues2021-12-14T00:00:00-06:002021-12-14T00:00:00-06:00http://0.0.0.0:4000/news/update
14 December 2021

There has been a quiet few months for Raider. Unfortunately, I got seriously sick, so I was too busy trying not to die. I had no choice but to put the project on pause. Now I recovered, and I feel ready to continue working on Raider.

So what’s next for this project? For the next few months, the main goal is to make it more straightforward what Raider is about and how it can help. Therefore, besides fixing bugs and adding missing features, I’ll work on writing tutorials, updating documentation, and preparing demos/presentations, which I might talk about at conferences.

That being said, I’ll now pick up the development where I left, so expect new releases soon.
Daniel Neagaru14 December 2021Raider public roadmap2021-09-14T00:00:00-05:002021-09-14T00:00:00-05:00http://0.0.0.0:4000/news/roadmap
14 September 2021

To encourage contributions, and make it clear what the project will be
focused on next, we made public a
roadmap. This is still incomplete,
and we will likely update our plans as we understand better what our
goals should be, and what feedback we receive.
Daniel Neagaru14 September 2021Raider source moves to new repository2021-09-14T00:00:00-05:002021-09-14T00:00:00-05:00http://0.0.0.0:4000/news/owasp
14 September 2021

Since Raider became an OWASP project, we are moving the development
from the DigeeX Github account to
the OWASP one. The old repository
will remain in place, but won’t be updated, it will contain a
deprecated notice with the link to the new repository.
Daniel Neagaru14 September 2021Raider became an OWASP project2021-09-09T00:00:00-05:002021-09-09T00:00:00-05:00http://0.0.0.0:4000/news/owasp
09 September 2021

OWASP Raider

The OWASP Foundation has accepted Raider as a new
project. Next goal now would
involve building a community and finding people to contribute. Talk to
us if you’re interested.
Daniel Neagaru09 September 2021Launching raiderauth.com2021-08-31T00:00:00-05:002021-08-31T00:00:00-05:00http://0.0.0.0:4000/news/launch
31 August 2021

Raider website

Now Raider has its own website instead of just a Github
repository. It’s just a centralized
static website with all the relevant links and information related to
Raider.

Community forum

A new Discourse forum has been
launched to help build a community around Raider. For now it’s still
empty, and there’s not much posted yet, but keep an eye on it, soon
there will be posted more tutorials, instructions, attack scenarios,
and more.
Daniel Neagaru31 August 2021
